ITBMS 2022 - JQSRT Special Issue
Journal of Quantitative Spectroscopy & Radiative Transfer (JQSRT) special issue
This special issue of JQSRT is intended to feature contributions from leading scientists from academic and government institutions who will attended the 15th International Conference on Target and Background Modeling & Simulation (ITBMS 2022) conference. This conference is open to people from the research and development community active in the field of optical signature simulation technologies, military end-users, and industry representatives. ITBMS 2022 will include various sessions from 7 - 10 June 2022 corresponding to the topics defined below.
- Data, techniques, models, and validation of signatures of land, sea and air targets and backgrounds, and of targets in background
- Extension to polarization, hyperspectral and active signatures
- Optical properties of complex surfaces
- Models validation and metrics
- Signature management models (infrared, spectral, passive and active)
- Modeling and simulation of clutter (soil, maritime, atmospheric)
- Radiative transfer, propagation models and optical data sets
- Turbulence modeling and effects on simulation
- Impact of climatic conditions on signatures
- Telemetry, Active / Laser imaging systems
Contributions to the issue will be sought that discuss research related to electromagnetic scattering, but given the composition of the conference, an applications-oriented flavor of the issue is likely. Manuscript topics may include polarimetry, scattering models, remote sensing, and hyperspectral methods. The contributions will consist of several invited reviews, i.e., with content containing less than 25% new work, and regular research-articles presenting high-quality original work. All contributions will be peer-reviewed following the same procedures and standards as all usual JQSRT contributions. This is not a proceeding volume.
